Statement from Sundance Vacations

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — Pittsburgh CBS news affiliate KDKA and reporter Andy Sheehan broadcast a segment February 16, 2016 on Sundance Vacations based almost entirely on the unjustified complaints of one single customer.

“There is no basis to the accusations being leveled against Sundance Vacations,” said John Dowd, CEO and co-founder of Sundance Vacations. “We take every possible precaution to protect consumers. Sundance Vacations, currently in its 25th year, has sent more than 16,000 people from the Pennsylvania area alone on vacations in the U.S., Mexico, and the Caribbean. Sundance currently provides exceptional travel options for more than 50,000 current customers to enjoy with their families every year.”

In advance of the broadcast, Sundance Vacations provided the reporter, Mr. Sheehan, and the management of KDKA a dossier of information that clearly prove the allegations of high pressure sales and that consumers are unable to book vacations are inaccurate. Despite having clear evidence that contradicts their claims, Mr. Sheehan and KDKA decided to continue the broadcast regardless of the potential harm it may cause to the company.
