Wilkes-Barre, PA – September 15, 2022 – Jody Miller, son of Sundance Vacations Associate VP of Marketing, Denise Miller, and hillclimb veteran, placed second in his class and twelfth overall in the Flag Rock Hillclimb. Miller’s Sundance Vacations sponsored car was named fastest FWD car in the race! The Flag Rock Hillclimb took place at the Flag Rock Recreation Area in Norton, Virginia, August 27-28. The event is head yearly and is part of the Appalachian Hillclimb Series hosted by SCCA’s Blue Ridge Region with support from East Tennessee Region and Central Carolinas Region. Many talented participants attended to test their skills. Miller made great time during his fast-paced race, coming in at 2:00.172. Ray Kochin, the second driver of the Sundance car, placed first in his class and eleventh overall with a time of 1:59.592—only half a second faster! The technical 1.7 mile Flag Rock Hillclimb features approximately 15 turns with an elevation gain of 920 feet—and incredible feat for any driver to overcome!
Miller voiced his excitement about the turnout in a Facebook post, saying, “We can’t wait to come back to defend the times and run faster yet.” All of us here at Sundance are looking forward to the next race where Miller will undoubtedly set records and make amazing strides!
