Sundance Vacations: Benefits of Travel – Vacations help you to Recharge, Re-energize

The positive benefits associated with travel and vacationing are well-documented.

In survey after survey going back decades, when consumers are asked to prioritize what is important to them, vacation travel is at the top of the list. Most will agree that the spare dollar usually goes toward taking a vacation.
Vacations go a long way in helping people to rejuvenate, re-energize and recharge which, in turn, help them to regain their creativity and motivation. Additionally, vacationers also appreciate the fact that travel fosters togetherness and builds lasting family bonds.
The list of benefits generated by vacationing are seemingly endless. The positives connected with travel include health benefits, enjoying life, embracing new cultures, improving social skills, reducing stress, career and productivity benefits, as well as relationship, educational and cultural benefits, among many more.
Needless to day, traveling gives us the opportunity to disconnect from our regular day-to-day lifestyle. On top of that, vacationing provides ample time for rest and relaxation and also creates a conduit that fosters memories that will last a lifetime.
Sundance Vacations, a wholesale travel company, offers a variety of avenues to travel when it comes vacations. It’s no secret that traveling is not only for the young, it’s also for the young-at-heart. The Global Commission on Aging and and Transamerica Center for Retirement Studies, in partnership with the U.S. Travel Association, has released research that shows travel offers the same sort of physical and cognitive benefits as crossword puzzles and museum visits.
The study also revealed the following:
  • Women who vacationed every six years or less had a significantly higher risk of developing a heart attack or coronary death compared with women who vacationed at least twice a year.
  • Men who did not take an annual vacation were shown to have a 20 percent higher risk of death and about a 30 percent greater risk of death from heart disease.
  • Benefits of travel are almost immediate. After only a day or two, 89 percent of respondents saw significant drops in stress.
The study also noted that 59 percent of Americans dream of traveling during their retirement and that the most memorable trips are those spent with family and friends.
And, yes, researchers did account for factors such as income levels and pre-existing poor health.
Mark Twain may have summed it up best when he said: “Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one’s lifetime.”
Even if you live in a vibrant city and have an exciting job, nothing can replace the unique experience traveling and vacationing offers. Remember, you only live once, so passing up a chance to travel is tantamount to passing up a life-altering experience.
Traveling is known to provide people with a whole new perspective, whether that means no longer sweating the small stuff or promising to get out there and meet new people upon returning home. Traveling remains an appealing form of escape. In the  dead of winter, with a foot of snow awaiting you outside your front door, what could be more tantalizing than a warm weather and swimming in the deep blue waters of Jamaica or Bermuda? Simply put, the attraction of the activities that are impossible to enjoy in your hometown make a trip all that more worthwhile.
Whether you need to take a few weeks off to avoid the stress of work or need time off to contemplate where your life is headed, traveling should be you answer. At least once in your life you should leave everything on pause and go somewhere. anywhere. Though it may not be obvious while you’re sitting at home, the knowledge acquired from traveling is in valuable.
In summation, travel offers myriad benefits:
  • It allows you the opportunity to disconnect from your regular day-to-day lifestyle.
  • It offers you a chance to relax, relieve stress and recharge your batteries.
  • It provides new experiences and increases your resourcefulness.
  • It creates fond memories that last a lifetime and create strong family bonds.
  • It increases your knowledge and widens your perspective.
  • It offers a time for reflection and introspection.
