Wilkes-Barre, PA (February 6, 2009) Mountain Speedway of St. Johns will be renamed Sundance Vacations Speedway as a result of a sponsorship agreement between the two locally based companies.
Sundance Vacations’ three year sponsorship agreement includes exclusive naming rights to the track. The Sundance Vacations speedway hosts weekly racing action from April until November. Race teams come from a several state radius to compete on the 1/3 mile asphalt oval near Hazleton. The company will also add $5,000 in prize money for the drivers who compete at Sundance Vacations Speedway. All winners who carry the Sundance Vacations contingency sticker on their race cars and mention the company on their website are eligible for the extra prize money from the track sponsor.

Sundance Vacations formerly sponsored the #74 Dodge driven by Daytona 500 winner Derrick Cope. In addition to the NASCAR Sprint cup team that competed in 2005 and 2006, the company also sponsored a racecar driven by twins Angela and Amber Cope.
