Sundance Vacations is happy to be the presenting sponsor of the upcoming 2015 Wyoming Valley Children’s Association (WVCA) Do It for the Kids Walk-a-Thon!
The event, which will take place on April 18, 2015 at 9:00 AM, is a great family event where all proceeds raised will go directly towards supporting the WVCA and the programs they provide to children in local communities.
The WVCA has been helping the children of the Wyoming Valley since 1923. Started by the members of the Wilkes-Barre Rotary Club, the current incarnation of the organization began using the WVCA name in 1985. The organizations mission is to, “provide the highest quality of early childhood education to ensure the greatest developmental potential of all children in partnership with their families, including therapeutic and support services as needed.”
Helping children from birth to age five, the WVCA offers quality education and therapeutic services to those with developmental disabilities like autism, Down Syndrome and speech delays.
Both teams and individual walkers are welcome to sign up for the walk-a-thon. The event will be held at the Together We Grow Preschool located at 1133 Wyoming Ave., in Forty Fort, Pennsylvania (See the map below). Registration for the event will take place at 9 AM and the walk will start at 10.
Post walk events include: an awards presentation, food, make and take crafts, moon bounce, raffle baskets, face painting and more! Participants will receive a T-shirt and are encouraged to register in advance. For more information about the event, including fees and more, visit the WVCA’s event page on Facebook here: “WVCA Do It for the Kids Walk-a-Thon Event”
